DBT Skills Group

We are pleased to announce that we are offering Dialectical Behavioural Therapy Skills Group.

What is DBT?

DBT is a therapeutic modality that can help you learn to cope with difficult emotions. Dialectical Behavior Therapy helps people obtain a life worth living, learn essential life skills, and develop a greater sense of self-control. This group aims to help you understand and apply the four DBT skills: mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotional regulation.

How to Register?

If you are interested in registering for the group, please email info@townpsychology.ca or call 905-616-1719.

What to Expect?

The group will be led by our Registered Psychotherapists and Social Workers. We follow a structured curriculum and focus on teaching a new skill each week, homework review, practicing skills, and discussions.

Before starting the group sessions, you will have a telephone orientation with one of the facilitators to discuss how DBT can help you achieve your individual goals. The facilitator will provide more detailed information about the curriculum upon registration.
